April 15 , 2007 - RAI Properties, LLC, today announced a growing list of retailers lining up to occupy 22,000 sq ft in the Jefferson Business Park retail complex expected to open on May 1, 2007. "We have commitments from over a half dozen prime tenants," said park developer Dan Douridas, "leaving us with only 9,000 sq ft still available. Once this space is taken, no one will have better opportunity than our tenants to serve customers using the adjacent DMV." The retail section of Jefferson Business Park is anchored by the DMV Regional Office, according to RAI Properties managing partner Jim Ruland, and features its own entrance directly from WV Route 9. DMV officials estimate three to four hundred customers a day, in addition to the several hundred people who work in Jefferson Business Park office and commercial sections, the nearby labor force in Burr and Bardane Industrial Parks, as well as the swelling residential population in the area. The Jefferson Business Park retail complex is looking at options for a restaurant/pub in the 12,000 sq ft Buchanon Building and a sandwich/coffee shop in either the Buchanon or 10,000 sq ft Adams Building. "We are pleased to say we will already have take-out/sit-down dining at Kings Pizza & Italian Restaurant," said Douridas, "as well as tenants like Arndt McBee Insurance, Charles Town Walls, Cummings-Griffin International, Nationwide Insurance and ViVO Day Spa/Salon." COAST GUARD EXPANDS PRESENCE
U.S. Department of Homeland Security grows operations at JBP
March 30 , 2007 - The United States Coast Guard element of the Department of Homeland Security has now leased the entire 12,000 sq ft Jefferson Building in Jefferson Business Park, announced RAI Properties, LLC, the park's developer. "This was a very welcome development," said co-owner Jim Ruland, "as elements of the Coast Guard's National Maritime Center occupied half our newly opened Jefferson Building in December. Now they have taken the second half." Jefferson Business Park provides first-class, affordable offices December 20, 2006 - U.S. Coast Guard personnel, including staff displaced by Hurricane Katrina received a warm welcome to Jefferson County today, as Rear Admiral Brian Salerno from U.S. Coast Guard headquarters in Washington, DC greeted elements of the National Maritime Center at a reception marking their move to the Eastern Panhandle. The reception also marked public announcement of the new name for Jefferson Business Park, where the Coast Guard will be located while their new permanent headquarters is being constructed in Martinsburg, WV. GOVERNOR OPENS NEW DMV REGIONAL OFFICE
Prime retail to adjoin high-traffic location
August 17, 2006 - Governor Joe Manchin cut the ribbon for the first regional office of the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) in Jefferson County, WV. The DMV was completed by RAI Properties on-time, on-budget and provides a one-level, 8,000-square-foot full-service facility on two acres of land with direct access to Route 9 within the Burr business complex overseen by the Jefferson County Development Authority. The DMV facility is expected to provide services to about 6,000 motorists each month.
